The course is designed for the inspector to recognize these potential defects in the structure by understanding different failure modes. If significant problems are found, it may be necessary to refer the structure to a Licensed Structural Engineer for further evaluation. The primary job of any home inspector is protect public safety during their inspections and report any issues discovered during the inspection.
